In November of 2001, having quit work, moving out of our rented home and packing up our worldly goods up into a storage unit, Joanne and I pedalled off down the road on the adventure trip of our lifetime - a cycling trip around Australia.

Our self titled trip "Around Australia - Recumbent Style", saw us saw us ride over 19,000 kilometres in 18 of the 23 months we were on the road.

Upon our eventual return, having been bitten pretty badly by the travel bug, and with the lure of the open road and the lifestyle we came to love so much in our minds, we began working and saving for another trip - but where to this time? Not long into the dreaming and planning we received an email that would give us our direction, and another trip was conceived.

Our second trip started with our packing everything up again and heading off down the road, this time across Australia before flying overseas to North America. Starting on the Prudhoe Bay Alaska on the shores of the Arctic Ocean, we rode back to our base in Calgary and then launched off down into the United States.

You can read all about our trips in our journal pages, and we hope you enjoy them.

POST SCRIPT - As of April 2012 we are now into another adventure which you can find at http://www.2wander-yonder.com

Mark Twain once said "...years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do that by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - and so we will.

Read about our cycling trip around Australia in our book - "Ants, Dust & Flies in my Coffee..."
